Here's the answers to the questions I hear the most. If you've got one that's not here, by all means click the Contact tab on the top menu and send it to me!
Do you fly the plane, too? I fly from takeoff until I've positioned the plane exactly where I want it for the optimum photo, then turn it over to my safety pilot to keep it there while I concentrate on getting the best images.
Do your prints include the watermark I see online? Absolutely not! I do insert a small, almost invisible photo credit on the very lower right of my prints, but you wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it. (I'll leave it off upon request.)
Can I use your photos on my web site? IF you're a noncommercial site, you may use any of the images you see here that are available for download.
I always appreciate a link from the image- just copy and paste this one:
Commercial sites are forbidden to use any image without express permission.

How long have you been doing this? I started doing aerial photos in the mid 70's. My very first customer was a sailboat owner in Cohasset, MA who wanted a picture of her boat under sail. Soon I was shooting sailboat races for the club, and shortly thereafter the beautiful oceanside homes of the South Shore. I was also lucky enough to spend a year in St. Thomas, and enjoyed photographing many yachts and races while there. Over the years I've been fortunate enough to be overhead with a camera during the Tall Ships visits to Boston, the final America's Cup race in Newport, and now the Lakes and Mountains of New Hampshire.
Do you ever take passengers? No.I have a strict rule never to take passengers when I'm working. There are any number of reasons for this, not the least of which is that some of my photos require a continuous 3G turn with the aircraft in a 60 degree bank- window open. Not everyone's idea of a smooth ride!
If you really want to see the lake I highly recommend you contact Emerson Aviation (293-0800) and arrange for a scenic flight. It lasts about a half hour- enough time to tour the entire lake- and you get to do the flying if you like!! Tell them I sent you...
What type of equipment do you use? I couldn't wait until digital cameras got as good as 35mm film, and now (in my humble opinion) they're even better. (No flaming emails from film buffs, please!). Currently I'm using a 10.2 MB Canon EOS400D (XTi) digital SLR. My lenses range from 17mm to 300mm, most with Image Stabilization. For image post-processing, I use the latest version of Adobe Photoshop as well as Genuine Fractals (for resolution enhancement). I use a couple of other software products as well, but I can't reveal ALL my secrets!
What's the largest you can print? Images captured with my newest camera print nicely up to 36" wide, but some of my older images are not suitable for this much enlargement.
Do you have more images that are on the web site? Oh my, yes! I'm always behind updating my site! If you don't see the photo you're looking for, by all means drop me an email and I'll search through my archives.
Why don't you offer framed photos? Framing a photo is a very personal thing- the color of the frame and mat(s) must be coordinated to match both the image and the room. I would never presume to be able to do this for you. (If you're giving a framed photo as a gift, remember that frame shops are notoriously slow- it may take a couple of weeks to have it done.)
Why don't I just use Google Earth?
I absolutely love Google Earth! I use it all the time to plan trips, visualize photographic angles, and fly around the entire world from my desk. If you don't have it already- get it! It's the best bargain on the internet- FREE. Just for fun, however, click here for a direct comparison of a Google Earth image, and one we did recently.
