While I enjoy photographing many things from the air, I'd have to admit that aerial home portraits are my favorite. I love the reactions from my customers when they first see what their home and property looks like from my perspective, and, I'd also have to admit, I love the challenge of making every home seem like a castle.

I've done my custom Home Portraits as wedding gifts, Christmas surprises, anniversary presents, and, of course, just to take back to your winter home.

If you'd like to have a custom Home Portrait...

First, make sure your home and property can be photographed from the air. Stand on your front steps and look up at a 30-40 degree angle. Can you see sky from left to right? If you're on the waterfront, are there trees between you and the lake that still have their tops? If you can see the sky when looking up at a 45 degree angle, I should be able to see your home from the air.

I'll need a photo of the front and/or back of the house
, street address, and any additional information that will help me find it and get a good shot. (Is there a barn or other outbuildings? Pool? Dock or boathouse? Is it better to shoot in the morning or afternoon?- you get the idea). The more you can tell me, the easier it is for me to find your home. (If it's lakefront, a shot from the lake helps a great deal.) If it's within a reasonable distance I'll drive over for a look from the ground.

When the right day comes along (and I am very picky about the right day), I'll fly over and shoot your home and/or property from a variety of angles and altitudes. I take dozens of shots- both close ups of your home and photos that show it's scenic location (What's the difference?). Sometimes we'll shoot on several different days, or at different times, for just the right lighting.

Back at the computer, I select the very best angles and views, and place them online in a private proof gallery for your review.

What does it cost?

The cost for a custom Aerial Home Portrait within 20 miles of the Laconia airport is $395. A $200 deposit is required with your order- the balance is due when you approve your online proofs. (Additional charges may be added for special services-please see our Rates page.)

Foliage Season - September 15th until Oct. 15th. There is a $100 surcharge for Home Portraits shot during this period- waived if you make your reservation before 9/15.

What's included?

Location and lighting research & planning
Aircraft
Safety pilot
Photographic Services
Personalized, private online proof gallery (Choose your best shot)
An image CD OR one 12" x 18" print. (Add $35 if you want both)

Many of my customers choose to order a larger custom edited print. Back at the computer, I repair the brown spots on your lawn, remove any unsightly debris (including that blue tarp out back!), even take out that old car in your neighbor's driveway. The images are then color corrected, sharpened and resolution-enhanced using the latest state-of-the-art imaging software. I do my best to bring your home's image from "beautiful" to "Stunning!". (If you'd like to see an typical example of our custom digital editing, and how it significantly improves a Home Portrait, click here.) Custom edited prints vary in price, depending mostly on the size. Prints up to 24" x 36" are always available. (Even larger prints can be made if we know of your requirement prior to the shoot.)

Because framing a photo is a very personal thing, we do not offer framed prints.

* More distant locations involve a mileage surcharge of $4/mile in excess of 20 miles.
Example- if your home is 40 miles away from the Laconia airport, there would be a $80 surcharge.
(40 miles minus 20 = 20miles X $4/mile = $80)
