Here's the answers to the
questions I hear the most.
How long have you been doing
this?
I started in the mid 70's. My very first customer was a sailboat owner
in Cohasset, MA who wanted a picture of her boat under sail. Soon I was
shooting sailboat races for the club, and shortly thereafter the beautiful
oceanside homes of the South Shore. Over the years I've been fortunate
enough to be overhead with a camera during the Tall Ships visits to Boston,
the final America's Cup race in Newport, and now the Lakes and Mountains
of New Hampshire.
Do you fly the plane, too?
I fly from takeoff until I've positioned the plane exactly where I want
it for the optimum photo, then turn it over to my safety pilot to keep
it there while I concentrate on getting the best images. (That way we
avoid the rocks-in-clouds.)
Do your prints include the
watermark I see online?
Absolutely not! I do insert a small, almost invisible photo credit on
the very lower right of my prints, but you wouldn't notice it unless you
were looking for it. (I'll leave it off upon request.)
Can I use your photos on
my web site?
My images are expensive and sometimes even dangerous to obtain- these
are not hobby or vacation shots. As much as I would like to, I can't make
a living by giving them away. None of them may be used without express
permission. Please check our rates
page for usage costs.

Do you ever take passengers?
No.I have a strict rule never to take passengers when I'm working.
There are any number of reasons for this, not the least of which is that
some of my photos require a continuous 3G turn, in a 60 degree bank, with
the window open- not everyone's idea of a smooth ride.
What's the largest you can
print?
Don't know yet. With some of the newer digital image stiching software,
it's possible to create huge images with the same fine detail as smaller
ones. The only real barrier to size is mounting.
Do you have more images
that are on the web site?
Oh, yes! We are always behind updating the site. If you don't see the
photo you're looking for, use the search function at upper right. If that
doesn't work, drop me an email and I'll search through my archives.
Do you offer framed photos?
No. Framing a photo is a very personal thing- the color of the
frame and mat(s) must be coordinated to match both the image and the room.
I would never presume to be able to do this for you.
Why don't I just use
Google Earth?
I absolutely love Google Earth! I use it all the time to plan trips, visualize
photographic angles, and fly around the entire world from my desk. If
you don't have it already- get it! It's the best bargain on the internet-
FREE. Just for fun, however, click here for
a direct comparison of a Google Earth image, and one we did recently.
